In his final Beacon Journal ombudsman column, Mike Needs mentions some of the ideas he never got around to got around to tackling. "One column waiting to be done involves some of the more unusual calls I've received," he writes. "For example, one person insisted the paper would find John F. Kennedy being held hostage in the basement of the Pentagon. Another caller demanded a daily photo of people leaving the Portage Country Club as a way to teach polyester-clad, Akron-area women the proper way to dress. Both were serious."
