A judge signed an order this week dismissing the decades-long litigation after Inquirer lawyers and lawyers for the sons of the judge who filed the suit agreed to the dismissal. The 1983 series, written by
Daniel R. Biddle, questioned the conduct of members of Pennsylvania's high court, including
James T. McDermott, who filed the suit. He died in 1992.
