Katie Couric says she's learned during her "listening tour": "[News consumers] want more perspective, they want news stories in more context. People also want to know how is this relevant to their lives, and I think we can do a better job of that. I do believe if you build it, they will come. Quality attracts people." Couric and CBS News want to "offer people something a little different and attract them to the program. ... We're hoping to give them something they can't get other places."
