Some journalists are worried that their profession is dying, but
William Powers says this is classic newsroom alarmism. "As long as there is a popular hunger for truth -- a constant of human society, last I checked -- there will be work for people who want to dig it up," he writes. "Witness the best of the bloggers, who have not only proved themselves adept fact-checkers but become tip sheets for the mainstream media. The dinosaur media have even started hiring them."
