Calvin Naito proposes genuine local ownership of the Los Angeles Times, made possible with $300 from each of the county's 10 million residents. "Wouldn't it be great to have your own newspaper -- really your own newspaper -- delivered to your doorstep every morning," he writes. "You will be able to see the return on your investment every day."
