News-Press staffers filed a petition Thursday with the National Labor Relations Board asking for an election that would grant them union representation. The paper's owner, Wendy McCaw and her managers quickly responded: "After repeated strong-arm attempts to unionize the Santa Barbara News-Press without going through the NLRB process, union leaders today conceded defeat and filed a petition with the NLRB." || James O.
