Editor Neil Munro, managing editor Susan Belniak Hood and Dolly Moiseeff, assistant managing editor for features and entertainment, were told their jobs were being eliminated with no warning. "I was encouraged to leave the building right away," says Munro. "I'm sure [the firings] will save them some money. I assume it was cost-cutting. There was no mention of performance one way or another." The Michigan paper claims a circulation of 65,581 daily and 81,526 on Sundays.
