New York Observer
The New York Times is training its reporters on how to do their work while keeping the threat of prosecution in mind, reports
Michael Calderone. Times investigative reporter
David Barstow, who is helping with the sessions, tells him: "With this crazy environment, with subpoenas and so on, there is this feeling that you have to act like a drug dealer or a Mafioso. We don't have any reason to think right now that there aren’t going to be more of these cases [where prosecutors target reporters]. So we should take precautions. It's just no longer an abstract threat."
