Bids for the Santa Cruz Sentinel are due today and industry analysts say MediaNews chief
Dean Singleton, who recently bought the San Jose Mercury News and Monterey County Herald, is the most likely buyer. The Sentinel is one of six newspapers owned by Ottaway Newspapers Inc. that were put on the market by parent company Dow Jones.
