At least 4,500 copies of Monday's Kentucky Kernel were stolen from several University of Kentucky newsstands. The paper had a Page One
story about two students being legally drunk when they died in separate accidents earlier this year. Before the issue went to press, the Kernel's editor received over a dozen phone calls and e-mails from the family and friends of one of the students asking that the story not run.
