The head of Philadelphia's Newspaper Guild has urged the Inquirer/Daily News owners to "sober up" or face a strike as early as today. He says management refuses to compromise on their "desire to take full control of our [pension] fund" and stop contributions to the plan. The owners counter: "The Guild has refused to make any proposal on the pension."
