Newly appointed Deseret Morning News editor Joseph Cannon, who is a politician and lobbyist with no journalism experience, got a cool reception from News staffers on Friday, reports the Salt Lake Tribune. News reporter Josh Loftin says: "With [current editor] John Hughes we built up a solid journalistic foundation here. We had a strong, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist as editor.
