That's what Week in Review editor Katy Roberts says. From her online Q-and-A:
Q. Which Week in Review you have edited would rank #1 and the reason for its top ranking? -- Gerald Tatz

A. This isn't an entirely fair way to answer your question, but how about any Week in Review with John Burns in it? Take the issue of Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006. John had been in Britain that week on a breather from his duty in Iraq when the news came late in the week that Saddam Hussein's days, or hours, were numbered. Dave Smith, the Review's deputy editor, caught him before he left England to go back to Baghdad that Friday. Though still not completely certain the execution would take place, John wrote an article on the plane, and we tore up the cover we had planned (a beautifully designed package looking ahead to 2007). Just before our deadline, which is midnight on Friday, John was on the ground, and he dictated the last of 2,200 words, about 90 minutes after the execution. It was a powerful, moving story, drawing on his long experience in Iraq, and it dominated our section.
