The Seattle Times Co. says it decided to settle its legal fight with Hearst in part because it was "fairly certain" the costly struggle would have dragged on even after a binding-arbitration trial decided the matter. "The statement raised another question: Who would have pressed the fight?" writes
Eric Pryne. Both sides had said they wouldn't challenge the arbitrator's decision.
