Steve Aschburner, a Star Tribune sportswriter for 21 years, told bosses last month that he'd accept their buyout deal. He quickly regretted his decision, which he calls an "impulsive, stressed-out thing" complicated by personal issues. Aschburner told his editor he wanted to stay, but management said no. He still holds out hope for a change of heart.
