Karen Hunter says about three dozen Courant readers scolded the paper for running the photo of the half-clothed and bloodied Virginia Tech student, even after the image had appeared on TV countless times. (That's a tourniquet -- not genitals -- that they see in the photo.) Dennis Yonan, who manages The Courant's photo lab, says: "If readers are more offended by a piece of anatomy than the tragedy, maybe they should rethink some things." More editor/ombud columns:
