Clint Reilly had accused the companies of scheming to monopolize Bay Area newspapers. Terms of his
settlement with Hearst and MediaNews Group weren't immediately disclosed, but Hearst says they'll have no "material effect" on Hearst investments in non-Bay Area assets of MediaNews Group, owner of the San Jose Mercury News and Contra Costa Times.
