Clint Reilly wasn't able to force MediaNews to divest itself of the San Jose Mercury News and Contra Costa Times, but the San Francisco businessman is still pleased with his settlement. One of the provisions allows Reilly to publish a quarter-page of "personal copy" in the local sections of each of the MediaNews papers once a week for three years. There's a dispute whether he'll pay for the space or get it free.
