Louis Short grabbed his camera and ran to the courthouse after hearing a cop-needs-backup call come over the police scanner. "Several of you have questioned why I didn't jump in and help [the deputy]," writes Short. "I've heard from people who were locked in their office looking out a window wanting to know why I just stood around taking pictures instead of helping. ...
