Volume 1, Number 1 of The New-York Daily Times -- four pages for one penny -- was published at 113 Nassau Street in Lower Manhattan on Sept. 18, 1851. The newspaper stayed there until 1854, when it moved closer to City Hall, reports
David W. Dunlap. There was no serious talk of landmark designation for the building.
