Andrew Rosenthal tells a reader who says: "Blaming America and its President every day for everything bad in the whole world might be correct but is it necessary?" Rosenthal adds: "We don't blame President Bush every day for every thing bad in the whole world, but that would ignore the serious point underlying this question, which gets to the heart of why an editorial page exists and how the Times editorial board approaches its job."
