Seattle Post-Intelligencer
In July, the Pacific Northwest Newspaper Guild filed a grievance over the creation of an online reporter position, arguing that the job should be performed by a union member. On Aug. 30, the union submitted a demand to arbitrate the grievance, but two weeks later, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer told the guild it wouldn't arbitrate. The union responded with a federal lawsuit.
