Joseph Norton, 89, was at a church coffee hour when someone asked him if had seen the notice about his death in the University at Albany alumni magazine. He had not. Anyone want him dead? a reporter asked. "I haven't any idea. There might well be. I've been rather active in the gay world, which not everybody approves of." The school says the obit was a simple mistake.
