Some results from a National Book Critics Circle survey by the Philadelphia Inquirer's
Carlin Romano:
* Is it ever ethical to review a book without reading the entire book? 7.9% say yes; 76.5% say no.
* Should a book review editor assign a book to a friend of the author? 1.5% yes; 84.2% no.
* Should anyone mentioned in the acknowledgments of a book be barred from reviewing it? 68.5% yes; 12% no.
* Should a literary blogger review the book of another literary blogger to whose blog she or he links? 33.4% yes; 23.4% no.
