John McCusker has agreed to a plea deal in which he receives probation and the possibility of his cases being dismissed. The Times-Picayune photographer, who lost his home to Hurricane Katrina,
was arrested Aug. 8, 2006, after police tried to pull him over for driving erratically. "Just kill me, get it over with, kill me," he told police at the time. McCusker said after Thursday's hearing: "We've rebuilt our home. We've rebuilt our lives."
