A Metro Boston story claims there will be "hundreds of layoffs" at the Globe and that the paper is raising its newsstand price. The four-graf story, which doesn't name a source, has the Boston Newspaper Guild in a tizzy. "It's disgraceful the NYT/Globe did not have the common decency nor strength of character to discuss this matter before it was made public, nor even a phone call placed to The Boston Newspaper Guild to disclose such an item was breaking news," the union says in a letter to Globe execs. || Boston Business Journal: Boston Globe denies Metro's layoffs report.
