Former Los Angeles Times editor James O'Shea says publisher David Hiller "decided that he wanted an editor that was more in line with his line of thinking, which called for a smaller and smaller staff for the LA Times. ...There comes a point in every person's career and life where you really decide, OK, where I do I take a stand? What is enough? ...I think we need to invest in journalism. Let's try that for once.
