San Francisco Chronicle
Kevin Jones, 27, was sentenced to five days in jail and ordered to complete a driving course and 200 hours of community service. The judge recommended that the journalism grad student serve his sentence in a sheriff's work program, meaning he'll probably pick up trash or do something similar rather than spend any time behind bars. Jones apologized in court to
David Halberstam's family and said he'd dedicate his career to trying to live up to Halberstam's ideals.
