Richard F. Zannino, who's been tapped to succeed
Peter Kann as Dow Jones chief executive, says the Bancroft family -- the company's controlling shareholder -- remains committed to keeping the company independent. Recent strategic initiatives, such as acquiring MarketWatch and launching the Weekend edition of the Journal, are testimony to the company's long-term commitment, he says.
