Keith J. Kelly says Observer editor
Peter Kaplan has been to England to seek a buyer and has approached
Bruce Wasserstein, owner of New York magazine and American Lawyer Media. Kelly writes: "The task of getting [the Observer] to break even has become even more difficult in recent years. The two-year-old daily New York Sun is laying plans to become predominantly free." (That's interesting, considering the Sun
increased its newsstand price this week.)
