Minneapolis Star Tribune
The Star Tribune story incorrectly stated that the judge in the murder case had gone to the police sergeant's widow, before jurors entered the courtroom, briefly talked to her and patted her on the shoulder. In fact, it was the prosecutor who comforted the widow. The trial was delayed for about an hour Thursday morning when defense attorneys moved for a mistrial. (Related Pioneer Press
story.)
