The New Republic says its the present tri-partite private partnership that owns the magazine has been expanded to include CanWest Global Communications, the owner of television, radio and Internet properties around the world and the largest newspaper publisher in Canada. "This is CanWest’s first investment of this kind in the United States," says the magazine's release.
