Pete Carey reports MediaNews Group CEO
Dean Singleton met this week with Knight Ridder officials about a possible purchase of the newspaper company. In addition, Carey's sources say that private equity firm Texas Pacific Group also met with KR execs this week. McClatchy reps talked to KR officials last week.
