The audited loss figures also show that Seattle Times news and editorial spending increased 11% over the first two years, before falling about 1% in the third. A spokeswoman says: "The numbers make it very clear that we have lost money for six years in a row," dating back to 2000. She wouldn't comment on the increase in news and editorial expenditures.
