Poynter Online Launches "This Week in Media"

We asked Poynter faculty members and Poynter Online contributors for their impressions of the news of the week. What surprised them? What was overplayed? Underplayed? What does it mean for the media? What will they be watching for next week?

At the end of every week, we'll ask the same questions and you can find their answers here.

To contribute your own thoughts on the week in review, click the "Add Your Comments" link at the bottom of a post.

For the week of Jan. 15-22, 2006:

  • Karen Dunlap on Google, Frey, and female leaders
  • Kelly McBride on Jill Carroll, Audry Lewis, and Post.blog
  • Bill Mitchell on WashingtonPost.com and NYTimes.com
  • Jim Romenesko on teen reporters, Howell follow-up, and Jill Carroll
  • David Shedden on Mozart's birthday and the Challenger explosion anniversary
  • Bob Steele on coal mine coverage, back-room deals, and Jill Carroll
