Ray Griffith, who led recruiting for the Riverside Press-Enterprise since 2002, died Wednesday. In the newspaper's obituary (subscription required), former colleague Vikki Porter, now director of the Western Knight Center for Specialized Journalism at the University of Southern California, said, "I think he was watching for the rookies, watching for new talent ... He brought a lot of very good people into newsrooms."
