Work permits and newspapers?
Q: I'm French and I have interned at a couple French magazines and will be interning at the AP in France soon. How much harder do you think it is for a foreigner to get an internship or a job in a U.S newspaper?
C.G.
A: Much.
There is the formidable issue of getting a work visa. Many employers do not want to deal with it.
The easiest avenue may be to explore a work or exchange program that takes care of the necessary work permits. It seems to be easier for students than for full-timers.
