Who drives automotive journalism?
An observation from today's Foundation for American Communications seminar, "What Drives Detroit?" at the Detroit Free Press:
Held on the eve of the Detroit auto show, the conference has 46 registrants. About 20 of these automotive journalists work at daily newspapers. But most do not. They come from trade publications, web sites, freelancing, the Latino press and wire services.
Another observation about the nature of automotive journalists:
Only one wanted the vegetarian lunch.
