Choosing among career interests?

Q: Am looking into a career change.  I have an associate's degree in Physical Therapy, but after twenty-years am sick to death of health care.  I am in school now working on a B.A. in Writing and Literature and wondered what would qualify for the following jobs:

  • Copy Editor (for a publishing company, not a newspaper)
  • High School English Teacher (in New York State)
  • An auditor that works processing Physical Therapy claims (such as Blue Cross)
  • A 911 operator
  • A human resources director
  • A counselor that assists students in choosing college pathways
  • A college recruiter

Thanks,

Tessa

A: Let's see. Sick to death of health care and considering editor, teacher, auditor, 911 operator, HR director, counselor and recruiter ...

Why don't you do all those things by becoming an assistant city editor (in New York State)?

Give Me a Sign

As we travel our career paths, wondering where to go next, we get signs. They can be in places ordinary or unexpected. They can come from above or from the road commission. We use those signs in Ask the Recruiter.

If you see a sign that speaks to you about your career, e-mail a photo of it to joe.grimm@gmail.com. Who knows? The sign you see may serve another.
