What If Recruiter Asks About Offers?
Q. Hope that you can help with this. When a recruiter asks "Can you please let me know if you have any other outstanding interviews that compare closely to this role?"

What am I supposed to answer, and what are they really trying to find out, especially since they mention roles that "closely compare"? At this point, I have been through all interviews and am just waiting for the company to make a decision.
Thanks,
Judy A. The recruiter is trying to find out whether there is competition for you. This could affect the company's interest, timing and offer.
You can answer the question, or you can decline by saying "I prefer to keep my conversations with other companies confidential, and I will do the same with our conversations, as well."
If you wind up with simultaneous offers that are equally appealing, try to negotiate for the best deal, but do not reveal the specifics of one company's offer to the other. You will come off as a player and could get burned.
And under no circumstance should you imply anything that isn't true.
Coming Monday: This journalist seems to just miss the requirements stated in some job postings and wonders if it is OK to just go ahead and apply anyway.
