Readers speak out about details
One of my goals for Writing Tools: The Blog is to show off the ideas of readers. Many of you offer personal questions or messages, or post feedback for all to read. A
recent post on how a detail makes meaning received an especially thoughtful string of responses. I encourage you to read these
nine good comments and to offer your own. They have helped me see how the same detail can reveal or conceal -- depending on the context; how good reporting can clarify and sharpen a detail; and how important it is for the writer to use the detail, and not the detail use the writer.
Thanks to all of you for reading this blog and joining a community of craft. Cheers. --
