You're seeking work in a multi-media world. Isn't it time your resume reflected that?

Poynter Career Center now enables you to include up to two minutes of video in your resume. Simply click Upload Video Resume on your resume page (also listed under Links on the My Account page in the Career Center). If you've already posted your resume and you're logged in to Poynter Career Center, you can upload your video resume here.

If you have on-air or online video to show, select brief excerpts of some of your best work and include them in your two-minute presentation. If you don't have video examples of your work, put yourself in the shoes of potential employers and provide them with some good reasons to follow up. Let them know what kind of work you're seeking and what makes you stand out as a candidate.

You can do this conversationally, as opposed to boastfully, remembering that potential employers will be especially interested in your track record as an indicator of future performance. (No need to worry about professional lighting or high production values. Take a look at the accompanying video message from Poynter Online managing editor Scott Libin as an example of what you might do.)

Once you upload the video, it may take several minutes for it to process. At the point that the message, "Video Resume Approval Pending" is replaced by "View/Edit Video Resume," you'll be able to review what you've posted. As with your text resume in Poynter Career Center, you're welcome to delete your existing video resume and replace it with a new one whenever you'd like to.

Remember, if you've already posted your resume and you're logged in to Poynter Career Center, you can upload your video resume here.

Good luck and give me a ring at 727 456 2331 if you need help.
