“It’s so hard to keep in top of mind our mission to tell people’s stories with dignity, to inform, and to tell people why they should care. Poynter is a wonderful way to recharge and reconnect with our mission and to get ideas from colleagues on how to do it better.” – Christian Livermore, a journalist who attended the Poynter seminar Beat Reporting: Covering Crime and Courts

Scholarships for Professional Journalists » Donate Online
Your gift will allow journalists to attend a Poynter seminar, an experience often described as transformational. Most seminars accept only 16 to 18 participants, so Poynter faculty and visiting professionals can work closely with each person. Participants learn from one another and leave with fresh perspectives and inspiration.
College students find Poynter a valuable steppingstone into professional journalism. Your gift funds programs for college students and recent graduates and provides scholarships for college students to attend programs at Poynter. Student programs remain a vital part of Poynter's work of teaching and inspiring journalists and media leaders...for today and tomorrow.
Support Poynter's work with high school journalists in Tampa Bay and across the country. Your gift helps Poynter serve student journalists and media advisers and provides scholarships for students to come to Poynter. A $500 gift provides tuition for one student to attend Poynter's yearlong program for high school students, including two weeks in the summer and 10 evening workshops during the school year.
Elementary & Middle School Writing Camp » Donate Online
Help create future readers and writers by supporting this three-week summer program for students in fourth through eighth grades. School teachers attend, as well, to work with the students and develop their own writing and coaching skills. Your gift of $300 pays tuition for a low-income student to attend this popular camp, building writing skills and boosting confidence.
