We just paid Blogger (www.blogger.com) and off we went. You have to configure your template, but that's not hard. Blogger is pretty cheap, too. I'm guessing E-Media Tidbits operates similarly, judging from the "Powered by Blogger" image at the bottom of the screen.

How do you handle the mechanics of a group blog? I assume it's a bigger pain than an individual blog where you just pay an ASP and off you go.

I agree! I completely agree. I just started a group weblog (http://www.observer-reporter.com/weblog/) for our newsroom, and I'm in the process of assisting -- or should I say, politely coercing -- our reporters to get acclimated to this new medium. The blog was announced to the public in my column Sunday (http://www.observer-reporter.com/318612261163922.bsp).
