Paying Too Much for the E-edition?

maybe we should call it the a&p stylebook?

I concur w/Amy's comments & echo her questions... The price is too steep for what you're getting. Don't get me wrong. I'm a big believer in AP style and think the development of the electronic edition is great. But I teach and preach AP style to college students ... and I know many of them will get Mom & Dad to fork over the bucks for this. But will students establish the necessary "bond" with the online edition, browsing through it enough to learn the really important points without looking *everything* up? I'm also a big believer in online references, but there's a sort of "serendipity factor* in having a print edition to browse through. That's important for something that's this crucial to a journalism student's development.

p.s. All this said, if I had learned from the *book* and were still working in a newsroom, I sure as heck would want my employer to buy a site license!
