Clark Gilbert was one of 70 leading news-execs, journalists, economists, financial analysts and researchers who participated in a New Directions for News workshop at Harvard University in October on the business of news in the future.

The conclusion: the news industry faces a perilous future with an unsustainable business model if it fails to innovate and change. Rosabeth Moss Kanter, the celebrated management/change strategist at Harvard Businss School, characterized attempts by news organizations at innovation as "putting lipstick on a bulldog."

You can download Clark Clifford's presentation and read more about the findings from the workshop at www.newdirectionsfornews.com
