Title: She knows Bacon -- and misses him
Posted By: Jim Romenesko

From KAREN TUMULTY, Time Magazine: The only assertion that I agree with Chris Daly about when it comes to Perry Bacon is this one: "Who is Perry Bacon Jr.? I don't really know..."

As it happens, I do know Perry Bacon, who was a colleague here at Time Magazine before he joined the Post, and who is one of the brightest people I have ever met. Perry is young (I admit to having been horrified to learn that I am older than his mother), but he is not inexperienced. While he was here at Time, he was one of our primary reporters covering Howard Dean's campaign and John Kerry's in 2004. He also covered Capitol Hill for Time during a turbulent period that saw the Republican leadership turned upside down by scandal and mismanagement. (I'm surprised that Mr. Daly's NEXIS search didn't turn any of that up.)

As someone who worked with him and his reporting, I can attest to both his talent and his insight. We miss him here at Time. [Permalink]
