Title: Newsweek's Levy joins Wired
Posted By: Jim Romenesko

Memo to Wired staff

From: [Executive editor] Cohn, Bob
Subject: Steven Levy comes to Wired

Wired Ones,

I'm so pleased to announce that we've hired Steven Levy to join the staff
as a writer. You all know Steven as the one of the finest tech journalists in the country. For the last 12 years, he's been writing for Newsweek, handling the big tech stories and doing a biweekly column. But he's also been a Wired hand since the earliest days of the magazine. He wrote the cover of 1.02 on privacy, and more recently has done memorable freelance pieces for us on Nick Denton, Larry Lessig, Stephen Wolfram, and Tim O'Reilly.

Steven's also the author of some of the most highly regarded books in our world, including Hackers, Crypto, and The Perfect Thing, his recent work on the iPod. He's currently reporting a book on Google.

Steven's a rare talent and will help us in our continuing mission to put out a great magazine. He joins us later this spring -- based in New York but making frequent visits to Silicon Valley.

Best,
Bob
