Politico, RCP to produce campaign blog

Politico, Real Clear Politics to Produce Joint Campaign Blog
ARLINGTON, Va. — Politico and Real Clear Politics today announced a new experiment in political journalism: a joint blog covering House and Senate campaigns.
The new blog -- The Scorecard -- will be produced by staff at both companies, and live simultaneously on both websites, www.politico.com and www.realclearpolitics.com. It will be written by Reid Wilson, a political writer for Real Clear Politics, and Josh Kraushaar, a political writer for Politico.
The blog will offer round-the-clock coverage of the battle for control of Congress, with news and analysis from two of the smartest and best-sourced reporters covering congressional races today. It will be the definitive source for handicapping of House and Senate races and a can’t-miss stop for breaking news on strategic decisions, fundraising and political trends.
“We are eager to undertake this new experiment with Real Clear Politics, a top-notch site for politics,” said Jim VandeHei, executive editor and co-founder of Politico. “We share a passion for politics, news and innovation — and this allows us to join forces on all three fronts. This is further evidence of how dramatically journalism is changing. You have two sites that sometimes compete for readership among political junkies working together for a common cause.”
“We are excited to be partnering with Politico on The Scorecard,” said John McIntyre, co-founder and president of RealClearPolitics. “As the media landscape continues to change, Politico has been at the forefront of innovative political journalism and we see this joint blog covering House and Senate campaigns another step in that direction.”
