Title: J-contest winners are promised their prizes
Posted By: Jim Romenesko

Missouri Lifestyle Journalism Award winners were sent this message on Tuesday, Jan. 27

To winners of the 2008 Missouri Lifestyle Journalism Awards:

I apologize for the long delay in getting your award checks to you. The
holiday break here added to an internal slowdown in the process.

Paperwork to order the 2008 checks will be processed right away.

We have suspended the program for this year. We need to make major changes in the entry criteria to adjust to the changes in the newspaper industry. With fewer newspapers and writers entering the contest in these difficult times, entry fees no longer support the prize money and the low administrative costs. We expect to find ways to continue the contest, and will be reporting all those developments to you in the months ahead.

In the meantime, rest assured that your prize money is coming. Thank you for your extreme patience.

Kent Collins
Director
Missouri Lifestyle Journalism Awards
